Our university CoSTEP will hold the 126th Science Cafe Sapporo "Hokkaido Dolphin/Whale 110 - Stranding supporting cetacean research" on November 20th.

The theme of this year's Science Cafe Sapporo is dolphins and whales. Although humans have been associated with cetaceans for a long time, our knowledge of them is extremely limited and many mysteries remain. *Stranding Network Hokkaido (SNH) collects and analyzes information on whales that have died offshore and washed ashore, through autopsy and other methods, in order to uncover the mysteries of whales. At this event, we will invite Professor Takashi Matsuishi (Faculty of Fisheries Sciences) of "Stranding Network Hokkaido (SNH)" and Junka Matsuda (Faculty of Fisheries Sciences) as guests, and will discuss the relationship between humans and the ocean. , consider the coexistence of marine ecosystems and humans.
