In April 2016, the ``Act on the Promotion of Elimination of Discrimination on the Basis of Disabilities'' (commonly known as the ``Act on Eliminating Discrimination against Persons with Disabilities'' was enacted, and our university, as a national university corporation, has decided to ``prohibition of discrimination against persons with disabilities'' and ``provision of reasonable accommodation'' became mandatory. December 9th is also the day the United Nations adopted the Declaration of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in 1975. To commemorate this day, December 3rd to 9th is celebrated internationally as Disability Week. Therefore, our university will hold several events during this period to raise awareness about disabilities on campus.

There are various types of students with developmental disabilities, and in addition to gaining basic knowledge on how to deal with students with developmental disabilities, students will also learn about barrier-free class environments as a form of support other than individual rational accommodation.
