Furukawa Electric Co., Ltd. has opened an endowed field, ``Regional Element Resource Utilization Engineering Field,'' in Faculty of Engineering our university.

 

Furukawa Electric and Hokkaido University have been working together since 2016 to develop catalyst technology to convert carbon dioxide and methane into LP gas. Furukawa Electric also participates in the Robust Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Engineering International Collaborative Research and Education Center, which is centered around Hokkaido University, and has been working on a variety of research themes.
Furukawa Electric is working on "creating environmentally friendly businesses" that will contribute to the realization of a decarbonized and recycling-oriented society, and we are currently working on the practical application of our past efforts with Hokkaido University and the realization of a decarbonized and recycling-oriented society. In order to further collaborate towards this goal, we have decided to open a donation field at Hokkaido University starting this year.
