On March 9, 2022, at a joint FD training held for all faculty and staff of School of Science, Graduate School of Science, Graduate School of Life Science and Graduate School of Chemical Sciences and Engineering Professor Makoto Demura Advisor to the President (School of Science of Science, Department of Biological Sciences (Macromolecular Functional Science) / Faculty of Advanced Life Science / Graduate School of Life Science) gave an explanation on the university's progress and initiatives regarding the SDGs under the title "Hokkaido University x SDGs - Past Sustainability Progress and 4th Term Mid-Term Goals."
Our university will enter its fourth mid-term goal period from 2022, and has adopted the Near Future Strategy 150 (2014-2026), which pledges to contribute to solving global issues through research, education, and social contribution in order to leave behind a sustainable society. ), it will also indicate goals that will contribute to achieving the SDGs. What stance should Hokkaido University faculty and staff take in contributing to the promotion of SDGs in the future? In the FD training, we learned about our university's history of sustainability and our efforts toward research and education that contribute to SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals).
