Institute for the Advancement of Sustainability held the first Sustainability Promotion Members Meeting of 2021 online on Wednesday, December 8th. This meeting was established in conjunction with the establishment of Institute for the Advancement of Sustainability in August, and this is the first meeting. A total of 89 people attended, including sustainability promoters and their assistants from each department, faculty and staff involved in sustainability, and staff from the facilities department. After opening remarks from Director and Vice President Atsushi Yokota, Director SDGs Initiative Office, he explained the position and background of the conference, as well as the duties of sustainability promoters, etc. The main topics are as follows.

At the meeting, Facilities Director Masato Shinbo requested that the promotion staff cooperate in raising awareness, since each energy-saving measure may be small, but it will lead to a large reduction in power consumption for Hokkaido University as a whole. In addition, during the Q&A session, questions were asked about the facility's efforts to address diversity and Net Zero Energy Building (ZEB) initiatives and innovations.

Finally, the meeting ended with a closing address from Director Nobutaka Sugawara, Director of Sustainable Campus Management Office.

Institute for the Advancement of Sustainability will continue to promote sustainability-related activities in cooperation with departments and other departments.
