The Graduate School of Fisheries Chemistry, Hokkaido University, the Hokkaido University Museum, and the Hokkaido Fisheries Association will hold a lecture commemorating the 150th anniversary of Hokkaido University's founding, titled "The Lineage of Knowledge and Dedication that Supported Hokkaido's Fisheries Industry."

The marine environment is changing dramatically, and Hokkaido's fisheries industry is facing a period of transformation.
I would like to take this opportunity to reflect on the "knowledge and aspirations" left behind by pioneers such as Kazutaka Ito, and the efforts that have been passed down, and to consider the state of Hokkaido's fisheries industry.
