The Research Center for Regenerative Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (IRAFF) at Hokkaido University will host the Hokkaido University J-PEAKS Symposium, "Creating a Well-being Society through Regenerative Food Production Systems."

This J-PEAKS Symposium will explore the future of well-being through the theme of "regenerative food production systems," which not only sustainably produce food but also regenerate the natural environment, ecosystems, local communities, and even the health of people's minds and bodies.

The symposium will feature presentations from researchers and practitioners both domestically and internationally, offering diverse perspectives on agriculture, fisheries, nature positivity, food and health, and art.
We will engage in cross-disciplinary discussions on topics ranging from smart agri-food systems connecting agriculture and food, grass-fed Wagyu beef, sustainable salmon production, value creation of local natural resources, food and health, and even well-being through art and food.

Let's consider the term "regenerative" not just in the context of agriculture, forestry, and fisheries, but as a way of thinking that revitalizes the region and society itself in a better direction.

We welcome participation from researchers, local government officials, companies, students, and anyone interested in the future of food and local communities.
