Hokkaido University is launching a crowdfunding campaign titled "Children's Book Forest Sapporo/Hokkaido University: Hokkaido University's knowledge and nature nurture the power to soar into the future."

In the summer of 2026, a place where children's curiosity and the knowledge of the university meet, "Children's Book Forest Sapporo/Hokkaido University," will open within Hokkaido University.

Hokkaido University, in operating the Children's Book Forest Sapporo-Hokudai, aims to "open up the university's knowledge to children." The entire Hokkaido University campus, rich in nature, is a large "forest of knowledge." The many researchers and students who spend time there can be described as unique "forest people." These forest people thoroughly pursue anything they find interesting. And they are always excitedly waiting for the chance to introduce what they find interesting to others and to think about it together. Interacting with many forest people will give children the opportunity to discover their own "interesting!"
