Institute of Low Temperature Science at Hokkaido University will offer an experiential program for female students nationwide, primarily third-year undergraduate students considering graduate school, to participate in cutting-edge and interdisciplinary research at Institute of Low Temperature Science.

This program involves about a week of hands-on research experience in a multidisciplinary field that centers around low temperature science and includes physics, chemistry, biology, and earth science.

 

[Application Guidelines]Eligibility: Third-year undergraduate students (fourth-year students are also eligible) at four-year universities who are considering pursuing graduate studies.

Capacity: Approximately 6 people per theme

 Theme 1. Reconstructing Paleoenvironments from Polar Ice Cores: August 31 - September 4, 2026

 Theme 2. Unraveling the Molecular Evolution of the Universe Through Experiments: August 31 - September 4, 2026

 Theme 3. Unraveling the Mystery of Mammal Hibernation from a Molecular Biology Perspective: September 7-11, 2026

 Theme 4. Dynamic Phenomena of the Microscopic World as Seen Through an Electron Microscope: August 24-28, 2026

 

Transportationand accommodation expenses will be reimbursed.

Application period: April 1st - May 11th*Only one theme per person is allowed.
