Hokkaido University's Institute for Comprehensive Innovation and Creation, Vaccine Research and Development Center, the Graduate Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, and Nippon Soda Co., Ltd. commenced joint research on "Research and Development of Novel Veterinary Pharmaceuticals" on Friday, March 13, 2026.

This joint research project aims to establish novel veterinary drug development and commercial manufacturing methods, as well as to bridge the gap to human drug development in accordance with the concept of Zoobiquity.

In this joint research project, based on the knowledge accumulated at Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, we will design new veterinary drugs and establish commercial manufacturing methods in collaboration with IVReD and Nippon Soda. We also plan to conduct safety tests on antibodies developed at animal medical facilities, including the Hokkaido University Veterinary Medical Center, and clinical studies on affected animals.
