The Open Education Center of the Hokkaido Institute for the Advancement of Graduate Education will hold the "Learning Assessment Cafe 2026 - A workshop connecting dialogue and reflection to practice" on Tuesday, March 17th.
In this workshop, participants will think about assessment methods that fit the context of each lesson through dialogue and reflection. Using worksheets and cards, participants will reflect on the assessments they have implemented in their classes and consider case studies to organize ideas for learning assessments that can be easily implemented.
In addition, we are also providing support for reflection over the course of one semester (2026) for those who wish to participate, following the face-to-face sessions. Rather than simply "learning," we believe it is important for students to continue to face assessments in a comfortable manner, thinking together with their peers.
No specialized knowledge of learning assessment is required. Anyone who teaches at an educational institution is welcome to participate.
