Hokkaido University and DENSO Corporation have signed a "Hokkaido University Naming Rights Agreement" regarding the acquisition of naming rights for university facilities, and the nickname for the library on the first floor of Faculty of Information Science and Technology Building will be "DENSO Library" from February 1, 2026 to January 31, 2029. This agreement makes this facility the 11th facility at the university and the first for Faculty of Information Science and Technology to have naming rights.
This facility is located on the first floor of a building used by graduate students from the Graduate Faculty of Information Science and Technology School of Engineering undergraduate students from the Department of Information Electronics in the Faculty of Engineering for classes and seminars.
Facing the open first-floor hall, a place where students, faculty, and staff can interact and deepen their learning, the library is highly user-friendly. Through this agreement, DENSO hopes to create new connections with Hokkaido University students and researchers and deepen exchanges and collaborations with future engineers and researchers. Furthermore, DENSO aims to develop this facility into an even more familiar and attractive space as a base for learning and research.
