The Sapporo Cultural Arts Community Center SCARTS and Hokkaido University CoSTEP will be holding the "Art & Science Project: Ichihara Satoko 'Slime Mold Passed Over the Meat'" from January 31st to February 11th.
This project, a collaboration between the Sapporo Cultural Arts Community Center SCARTS and Hokkaido University's CoSTEP, aims to cultivate the curiosity and sensitivity of the younger generation towards art and science. It aims to create a learning space that broadens the world through the mutual exchange of artistic creativity and scientific inquiry. Themes are chosen from scientific topics of great social interest, and artists use these themes as a starting point to engage with their own areas of interest, conducting extensive research and linking them to creative expression. Talk events, workshops, and presentations are held to allow participants to experience the process of discovering new perspectives and values.
This year, we have invited Ichihara Satoko as our artist in residence, and will be holding an exhibition to showcase the results of her work.
