The Hokkaido University Center for Data-Driven Interdisciplinary Research (D-RED) will hold a "Hokkaido AI/Data Science Education/Data-Driven Interdisciplinary Research Special Session" on February 20th.
This session, titled "AI, Data Science Education, and Data-Driven Interdisciplinary Research," will be held as a joint symposium by the Data-Driven Interdisciplinary Research Emergence Center (D-RED) and the Mathematics and Data Science Education and Research Center (MDSC), two organizations at Hokkaido University that foster digital talent.
The first session will feature topics on digital talent development leading to the resolution of regional issues, as well as a reskilling program being rolled out in Hokkaido. The second session will feature a talk on specific initiatives for "data-driven interdisciplinary research" being carried out by young researchers and students at each unit within D-RED and Faculty of Information Science and Technology in collaboration with NEXCO East Japan Group, Hokkaido Regional Development Bureau, Sumitomo Rubber Industries, and Nitori Holdings. The third session will feature a special lecture by Professor Hajime Kitaoka, former Ambassador to Estonia and former professor at the National Institute of Informatics and the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies.
