Hokkaido University's Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) will hold an international symposium on December 16th entitled "Learning from the University of Oulu in Finland, the world's happiest university: The current status and outlook for gender in academia in Finland and Japan."

Learning from the University of Oulu, Finland, the world's happiest university. Together with DEI, gender, and HR experts from the University of Oulu, Finland, we will hold an international symposium to explore the current state and outlook for gender in academia in Finland and Japan. We will learn about DEI initiatives at the University of Oulu, Finland, and in the EU, and share the significance of promoting DEI and future challenges. We hope to share what we have learned with a wide range of students, faculty, and staff, leading to a step towards creating major changes toward a better educational and research environment.
