The Child Development Clinical Research Center Faculty of Education, Hokkaido University will be holding a seminar entitled "What makes a high-quality teacher? A space for teachers to understand and collaborate with children" on November 29th.

Professor Masahide Fukui's book, "What is a 'Quality Teacher'?", published in April 2025, discusses an antithesis to today's policy-based image of teachers, drawing on his own extensive academic knowledge and experience. Among its key points, the book emphasizes the importance of providing a forum for teachers to exchange ideas and gain a multifaceted understanding of the challenges children face, including their living conditions and the world they see. We hope this session will be an opportunity for many current teachers, as well as aspiring teachers, to learn and discuss the meaning and writing of "practice records" that analyze children and one's own practice.
