The Child Development Clinical Center, affiliated with Faculty of Education Hokkaido University, will hold a seminar entitled "Should we stick to psychological support or prioritize customization?" on November 8th.
There are many evidence-based intervention (EBI) programs available, but insisting on strict implementation often leads to over-optimization. On the other hand, there are also the dangers of over-customization. To clarify the advantages and disadvantages of strict implementation and what should be emphasized, Yamamoto, who emphasizes the practical wisdom of predecessors and EBI, and Okada, who emphasizes the uniqueness of each case and individualized support, will engage in a heated debate (or perhaps a heated discussion?) using PEERS🄬, a support approach for adolescents with developmental challenges, as an example. This will also include a designated discussion by Honami, a community practitioner.
