Hokkaido University CoSTEP will hold the 143rd Science Cafe Sapporo on September 21st, entitled "Cutting through the confusion of the genome: How far is genome editing OK?"
At this Science Café, participants will first hear from an expert about the new technology of genome editing, followed by a workshop where participants can discuss genome editing with each other, using rice as the subject. The goal is not to come up with the right answer, but to deepen their understanding of what they think and how others feel. We may not think about science very often in our everyday lives. However, talk about food and agriculture is something very close to us and very important. Why not take a moment to look at the connection between our lives and science?
