Hokkaido University will be offering the "GX Future Society Design Practice Program (Basic Edition)" from October to December, aimed at corporate practitioners, aspiring startups/entrepreneurs, researchers, graduate students, and others.

This program aims to cultivate individuals who can demonstrate practical leadership through comprehensive learning about policies, systems, technology, finance, and practical actions related to GX and NP. Rather than simply acquiring knowledge, the program emphasizes building a foundation that promotes collaboration and co-creation between large corporations, researchers, and startups using GX and NP as a common language. GX (Green Transformation) refers to socioeconomic transformation (including energy transition, industrial structure reform, and institutional and financial development) that aims to achieve both significant greenhouse gas reductions and economic growth ("decarbonization x growth"). Meanwhile, NP (Nature Positive) is a concept that aims to halt and reverse biodiversity loss by 2030 and restore natural capital. This includes identifying risks and opportunities, disclosing information, and implementing conservation and restoration measures through frameworks such as the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD).
