Hokkaido University established the Institute for Regenerative Agri-Forest-Fisheries (IRAFF) in April 2025.

At this center, we are conducting research aimed at building a new agriculture, forestry and fisheries system that simultaneously restores the soil and marine environment, improves biodiversity, conserves water and forest resources, and increases the productivity and profitability of farmers and fishermen.

On August 5th, we held a symposium at Clark Hall, Hokkaido University to announce the establishment of IRAFF and to communicate the future of regenerative agriculture, forestry and fisheries that we are aiming for. We gave lectures on Hokkaido University's regenerative agriculture, forestry and fisheries research, as well as regional and global regenerative agriculture, forestry and fisheries.
