On Saturday, June 21st, the Hokkaido University-Local Government Collaboration Forum was launched, and a commemorative symposium was held at the FMI International Center on the Sapporo Campus.
This forum was established with the aim of supporting organizational and interdisciplinary collaboration between Hokkaido University and local governments, with the Public Relations and Community Collaboration Office playing a central role, while also highlighting examples of on-campus local government collaboration and the faculty and researchers involved in local government collaboration. In the future, this forum will serve as a one-stop contact point, building a system to introduce faculty members from Hokkaido University to local governments in need of the university's educational and research capabilities.
The inaugural symposium was a great success, with a total of 148 attendees, including 61 people from 24 local governments, including mayors, deputy mayors, and other special officials, including the Hokkaido Prefectural Government, 46 faculty and researchers from our university, and participants from private organizations. 56 people also watched the symposium online, making it a great success, with a total of 204 people in attendance.
