The Hokkaido University Institute of Low Temperature Science will be holding an open day entitled "Explore the Mysterious World of Low Temperatures!" on June 7th.
This event is part of a joint open house of research institutes and centers, "See, hear, touch and enjoy cutting-edge science." At Institute of Low Temperature Science, there will be a variety of exhibits and experiment/experience corners, including a simulated experience in a -50°C low temperature room (limited to junior high school students and above), an introduction to the Antarctic, Arctic and world glaciers, touching drift ice, observing the growth of ice crystals, recreating snow, and learning the secrets of plant pigments and photosynthesis.
