The Japan Association for Middle East Studies will be co-hosting the 41st Annual Conference of the Association for Middle East Studies with Slavic-Eurasian Research Center, Hokkaido University, on May 17th as a public lecture entitled "Northern Eurasia and the Middle East Connected by the Sea."
This event will feature a talk by Project Associate Professor Yoichi Isahaya entitled "Dante's Anomaly (1315-22) and the Black Sea World: Mongolia, Genoa, and Mamluks" and a talk by Professor Nobuhiro Naganawa entitled "A Crucible of Love and Hate: Caspian Sea Port Towns in the Early 20th Century."
