Hokkaido University CoSTEP and the Institute for Vaccine Research and Development (IVReD), part of the Institute for Innovation Emergence, will hold the 140th CoSTEP Science Cafe Sapporo, "Vaccine? What's that? Is it tasty? - Save the world from rabies with an oral vaccine!" on March 23rd.
Do you know about edible vaccines? The Vaccine Research and Development Center (IVReD) at Hokkaido University is working on developing an oral rabies vaccine that animals can naturally ingest. By mixing the vaccine with food and scattering it outdoors, it is possible to deliver the vaccine efficiently and widely. Furthermore, unlike conventional vaccines, IVReD research aims to improve safety by not using live viruses.
