The United Nations University Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability (UNU-IAS) will host the UNU SDG University Platform (SDG-UP) Public Symposium on 27 March.

This symposium will discuss sustainability initiatives with participating universities in the United Nations University SDG University Platform (SDG-UP). Each subcommittee of SDG-UP, participating universities and students will introduce their initiatives to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Through the discussion, we will consider the future shape and role of universities in achieving the SDGs.

Hokkaido University is a participant of the United Nations University SDG University Collaboration Platform (SDG-UP), and President's Special Advisor Makoto Demura is scheduled to give a speech in the first part of the symposium, "Introduction to Subcommittee Activities and University Sustainability Activities."
