The Hokkaido University Doushin Academy is a new learning space opened in April 2018 in cooperation with Hokkaido University and the Doushin Group for the purpose of local "knowledge." We are pleased to announce that we have begun accepting applications for the first half of the 2025 academic year.
At the Hokkaido University Doshin Academy for the first half of 2025, the liberal arts course will be taught by Faculty of Education, and through the themes of "study," "education," and "learning," students will consider the essence of learning and the ideal form of a society in which everyone can continue to learn. The science course will be taught by the Graduate Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, and students will learn about the latest treatments for cancer, infectious diseases, and chronic diseases, as well as next-generation drug development, while being introduced to the cutting edge of pharmaceutical research. Both courses are omnibus-style lectures taught by faculty members from Hokkaido University.
We are now accepting new students, so please consider enrolling in our courses. We look forward to your participation.
■ Humanities Course: What is "Learning"? Learning to deepen your learning (8 lessons in total)
Learning may seem like something familiar to us, but when we think about it again, we can see that it is related to various perspectives and ways of thinking, characteristics and functions, areas and situations. By considering what "learning", what "education" is, and what it means to "study", we will think about the relationship between our lives and learning, and a society in which everyone has the opportunity to learn.
■Science Course: The Mysterious World of Pharmaceutical Research: New Medical Treatments Created by Pharmaceutical Sciences (8 Parts)
