The Hokkaido University Katsurada Yoshie Award ceremony was held at the secretariat on Wednesday, December 4th.
This award is intended to honor female faculty members of our university who are engaged in academically outstanding research and who are expected to play active roles in managerial positions of the next generation. The aim of the award is to encourage these female faculty members and the many female faculty members who will follow them, thereby promoting the appointment of women to higher and managerial positions. The award was newly established in March 2023, and this year marks the second award ceremony.

- Professor Akiko Tamakoshi (Faculty of Medicine)
- Professor Chikako Nagasato (Field Science Center for Northern Biosphere)
Following the ceremony, a social gathering was held in the presence of President Houkin, attended by Executive Vice President and Head of the University's Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Junji Yamaguchi, and Vice Director and Associate Executive Director, Rika Yano. There was a lively exchange of opinions on measures to further promote the activities of female researchers.
