The Hokkaido University Arctic Research Center will hold a research presentation and public lecture entitled "Mountain Research in Hokkaido - Changes in the Polar Environment within Japan" on March 1st.

As global warming progresses, serious changes are also occurring in mountain and polar environments. At this conference, we would like to widely share the latest research results on environmental changes, mainly in the mountainous regions of Hokkaido. In the first part, general presentations will be held on a wide range of topics related to environmental changes in the mountains of Hokkaido. In the second part, invited lectures will be held on environmental changes in the Daisetsu mountain range and Mt. Apoi in Hidaka, as well as the cutting edge of mountain trail research.
