The Child Development Clinical Research Center, affiliated with Faculty of Education, will hold a seminar titled "Trends in Quality Assurance in Teacher Training and Issues in Teacher Training Courses" on February 18th.
From 2022, self-inspection and evaluation of teacher training courses at universities and junior colleges will be mandatory. Inspection and evaluation of teacher training courses began with the introduction of on-site inspections of teacher training courses in 2006, and has expanded to recertification of courses and the introduction of self-inspection and evaluation. This series of events will be reported, mainly using private universities as examples. During this time, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology is trying to regulate the content of teacher training courses not only in the fields of pedagogy and psychology, but also in the content of subjects related to open universities. Furthermore, universities are moving in the direction of mutual inspection by themselves or among themselves. We would like to consider what these trends will bring to teacher training and deepen the discussion on future challenges.
