The Hokkaido University School of Agriculture, Graduate School of Agriculture, and Research Faculty of Agriculture will hold the 71st Clock Tower Salon, "Ask School of Agriculture" on December 18th.
The theme of the 71st session is "Barrel wood and whiskey - The forestry industry that supports food culture." In recent years, interest in Japanese whiskey has been growing both domestically and internationally, and new distilleries are being built in Japan one after another. This time, we will start with a basic talk on barrel wood and barrel aging, which are closely related to whiskey production, and then provide easy-to-understand topics on the progress and research results of the Hokkaido Corn Whiskey Project, as well as the current situation and challenges of the related forestry industry and timber distribution.
