The Hokkaido Center for Natural Hazards Research will hold the 2024 Disaster Prevention Symposium "Wide-area Complex Disasters and Disaster Mitigation Measures in Hokkaido" on December 11th.

How can we prepare for climate change, increased seismic activity, and compound disasters during snowy winters? This symposium will answer the questions of "why?" regarding disaster prevention and mitigation. A keynote speech and four other lectures are scheduled.
