At Hokkaido University's Hakodate Campus, the aging Fisheries Science Museum (formerly the Fisheries Resource Center) and library have been combined, and the functions of the Fisheries Science Museum and Library have been integrated to create the new Fisheries Science Future Human Resource Development Center, an MLA-affiliated complex with advanced archive and shop functions.

On September 29th, in addition to the completion ceremony, a gathering of current and former students of the Faculty of Fisheries was held in conjunction with Homecoming Day, as well as a report session by the student group ISARIBI with: "A new form of co-creation between students and the community - Gathering with the activities of the student group ISARIBI with."

The Fisheries Science Future Human Resources Development Center will be available from October 2024 (Reiwa 6).
