The Ebola virus antigen rapid diagnostic kit "QuickNavi™-Ebola," jointly developed by Denka Company Limited and Professor Ayato Takada, Director International Institute for Zoonosis Control at Hokkaido University, has received approval for domestic use by the Ministry of Health of the Democratic Republic of the Congo on June 21, 2024.
This kit provides diagnostic results in about 10 minutes, can be stored at room temperature, and does not require any special equipment or devices, so it is expected to be used in remote areas far from cities where medical facilities are inadequate. Therefore, obtaining official permission to use this kit in the Democratic Republic of the Congo will enable the official supply of this product to the country, and it is expected that the rapid diagnosis of Ebola hemorrhagic fever patients will help prevent the spread of infection.
