Hokkaido University Museum will hold the "Plant Parataxonomist Training Course (Intermediate)" on September 14th and 15th. We are currently accepting applications for participants.

A parataxonomist is a person who has the ability to correctly identify and organize academic specimens and samples. They are needed in environmental research and education. Parataxonomists support specialists in fields such as biology, earth science, and archaeology.

This workshop is aimed at people who want to start collecting, creating, and donating plant specimens to herbariums, and will teach them the process from collecting plants to identifying them and creating specimens.

The aim is to develop human resources who can support plant taxonomy research by accumulating and providing plant specimens and distribution records.
