The Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Hokkaido University, will be co-hosting a "Career Path Seminar for Undergraduate and Graduate Students Aspiring to Become Leading Female Researchers" on July 30th, with Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) as its co-sponsor.
Diversity is becoming an increasingly important element in modern research settings, including academia, and there are high expectations for female researchers with leadership skills.
For this seminar, we have invited Professor Pascale Legault and Professor James G. Omichinski, who are both frontline researchers and husband and wife who conduct research and education at the University of Montreal, to introduce the career paths of female leaders, using concrete examples through the following topics. In addition, we will have a discussion with all participants, with the aim of gaining new perspectives and ideas by sharing each other's thoughts and opinions.
