Hokkaido University CoSTEP will hold the 136th Science Cafe Sapporo, "How the Future is Created as Seen through the Planetarium and the World Expo," on July 28th.

This Science Café will invite Professor Eiko Tsuchida of the Hokkaido University Research Faculty of Media and Communication, who specializes in American regional studies, to discuss the impact that large-scale events such as the World Expo and popular culture have on people's perceptions of the future and the formation of their identities. Let's look at records of past World Expos and think about the spread of future images that transcend time and space!
