Hokkaido University will hold a kickoff symposium on July 25th for the "Establishment and Development of a New Sustainable Food Production System Based on Field Science to Regenerate the Global Environment," a project adopted by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology as part of the "Japan-PEAKS (Regional Core and Distinctive Research Universities Strengthening Promotion Project)."
The purpose of this event is to publicize the details of this project, deepen collaboration with participating organizations, and build a cooperative relationship with related organizations.
One of the main goals of this project is to realize a sustainable food production system as part of efforts to promote the regeneration of the global environment (regenerative), while implementing measures to further enhance Hokkaido University's world-class research capabilities and establishing a research base to further develop the university's historical strengths in agriculture and fisheries. Through this event, researchers will explain the research concept of this project, and through a panel discussion, we will have an opportunity to share our vision for "realizing a desirable future food production system" with stakeholders, as well as widely share the details of our university's efforts and exchange opinions for future development.
