Faculty of Health Sciences at Hokkaido University has launched the "Courtyard Project."

This is the "Ambitious Model Project for a Coexistence Society in the Community" where not only faculty and students of our university, but also people with disabilities and elderly people in the community work together on the theme of creating a courtyard. Recently, it is expected that creating a place for social participation where diverse people can play an active role will promote self-realization, the formation of social connections, and understanding of a society that respects diversity. In addition, we hope that by having students participate in this project and interact with diverse people, it will also lead to the development of each student's communication skills. Furthermore, we believe that there will be a positive impact on the health of the participants themselves, such as students and faculty, and we would like to use this activity as a place for action research and plan to measure its effectiveness. Ultimately, our goal is for this project to be an opportunity to create a virtuous cycle of solving local issues and creating a virtuous cycle of research and education.
