A new article, “No. 8 ‘The weak yen and universities—Japan’s research in jeopardy’” has been published in the President’s Column on  the special website for Kiyohiro Houkin, the 20th President of Hokkaido University.

 

In the President's Column, Hokkaido University President Kiyohiro Houkin shares his daily thoughts while also touching on international topics surrounding the university. In consideration of the internationalization of the university, messages are sent in English so that international students and people living overseas can also read them. In this column, he talks about the recent weak yen's effects on Japan's research and its jeopardy.
