A new article, "No. 7 'Oppenheimer and AI'," has been published in the President's Column on the special website for Kiyohiro Houkin, the 20th President of Hokkaido University.

In the President's Column, Hokkaido University President Kiyohiro Houkin shares his daily thoughts while also touching on international topics surrounding the university. In consideration of the internationalization of the university, messages are sent in English so that international students and people living overseas can also read them. In this column, citing the 96th Academy Award-winning film Oppenheimer, he talks about the expectations and concerns of the new technology of AI, and an essential skill for scientific researchers to have a 'healthy imagination'.
