The university's Core Station for the Management of Open facility & Skills (CoSMOS) will hold the "1st Hokkaido University Core Facility Symposium" on January 18th.

The Hokkaido University Core Facility aims to establish an EBPM research infrastructure strengthening promotion system* that supports the creation of sustainable results and giving back to society. This symposium will include progress reports on each program of the Hokkaido University Core Facilities, a panel discussion, and a poster session.

*EBPM (Evidence-based Policy Making) research infrastructure reinforcement promotion system

We will build a research infrastructure IR system equipped with BI tools that aggregate detailed information related to equipment sharing and enable multifaceted analysis. Based on the evidence that has been scrutinized using this information, the ``Research Infrastructure Advancement Committee (tentative name)'' made up of department faculty and staff will formulate an investment strategy for equipment advancement. Based on this, the university executive department makes investment decisions, and by linking and implementing other programs (equipment sharing function enhancement program, research support human resource development program), EBPM research supports the creation of sustainable results and returns to society. We will establish a system to promote foundational strengthening.
